Glock 19 Magazine Base Plate Fit Guide

The Glock 19 is the most-carried compact in America, and the magazine base plate is one of the few parts of it you and everyone standing next to you actually see. Before you drop a custom 214 base plate on your G19 mags, there's one thing worth clearing up — and the good news is it's simpler than the internet makes it sound.

The base plate you need is set by the magazine's frame family, not by which generation your pistol is. A Gen 3, Gen 4, or Gen 5 Glock 19 magazine all take the exact same base plate. The generation stamped on your slide does not change the fit, so you can skip the "what gen am I" question entirely and just match the plate to the magazine family.

The short answer for G19 owners

The Glock 19 runs a standard double-stack 9mm magazine — the same magazine body used across most of the Glock lineup. That means a 214 standard-family base plate seats on your G19 mags and your G17, G26, G34, and G45 mags alike. One family, one plate, every generation. Order with confidence and leave the generation guesswork behind.

214 magazine base plate fit chart

Every Glock magazine falls into one of four base plate families. Find your model and you'll know which 214 plate to order, regardless of generation:

  • Standard double-stack — Glock 17, 17L, 18, 19, 19X, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 31, 34, 35, and 45. Also fits the PSA Dagger, which runs Glock-pattern magazines.
  • Large-frame — Glock 20, 21, 29, 40, and 41. Wider magazine body, so it takes its own plate.
  • Slimline (43X / 48) — Glock 43X and 48, which share the same slimline magazine.
  • Glock 43 — Glock 43 only. The single-stack 43 magazine is its own size.

Your Glock 19 is a standard double-stack, so any 214 plate cut for the standard family is a direct fit across every generation of G19 magazine.

Why generation doesn't matter

Glock changed grips, frames, and finishes across the generations, but the base of the magazine — the part the plate clips onto — kept the same footprint within each family. A standard double-stack floor plate has locked onto the same interface since the early guns, which is why a single 214 standard plate covers Gen 1 through Gen 5 without an adapter or a second version. So when you see a G19 magazine, you already know the plate: standard family, done.

Why the G19 gets its own page

The Glock 19 is the most-carried compact on the market, and it's the model we engrave the most in our Dallas shop. Duty officers, concealed carriers, competition shooters, and collectors all end up here, and they tend to ask the same first question: which plate fits my mags? The answer is the standard family, every generation — get that right and everything downstream fits the way it should.

Once the fit is right — make it yours

With the family matched, it's time to put your mark on it. Every 214 magazine base plate is laser engraved right here in Dallas, Texas — deep, permanent, cut into the metal itself, not a printed sticker that peels in a mag pouch. Run a Texas flag, an American flag, a unit crest, custom scrollwork, or one of our heritage designs. Order a matched set so every G19 mag on your belt carries the same mark, then finish the build with our Glock 19 slide back plate install guide. Shop Glock 19 magazine base plates →
